Alloy 32760 is a super duplex stainless steel supplied in heat treated and solution versions. As a super duplex steel, it combines the desirable aspects of both austenitic and ferritic grades. The higher chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content results in a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) greater than 40, providing superior pitting and crevice corrosion resistance to austenitic and duplex stainless steels in nearly all corrosive media and critical temperature of pitting above 50°C nb. Versions of the PREN formula also include W as a positive influence on overall resistance to pitting.
It provides higher strength than austenitic stainless steels and 22% Cr duplex and is listed in NACE MR 0175 for acid service and ASME for pressure vessel applications.
