Alloy 600 INCONEL® 600 is a nickel -chromium-iron alloy designed to offer corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance. This alloy features a unique combination of high mechanical strength and excellent machinability . Due to its high nickel content (min. 72%), INCONEL® 600 is highly resistant to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking and maintains its integrity even in oxidizing and reducing environments.
The addition of chromium provides resistance to oxidizing and sulfurous environments, while iron improves the alloy’s strength. INCONEL® 600 is not precipitation hardenable, but it can be strengthened through cold working.
Due to its versatility, this alloy is used in a wide range of applications, from low cryogenic temperatures up to temperatures above 1095°C.
