Alloy C276 is a solid solution reinforced alloy of nickel, molybdenum and chromium with small amounts of tungsten, which demonstrates excellent corrosion resistance in a range of harsh environmental conditions. The alloy may be considered for use in environments where resistance to mineral acids, organic and inorganic media, chloride, chlorine, formic acids, acetic acid, sea water and saline solutions is desired, especially if there is the possibility of crevice corrosion, which would attack any other material used . C276 is known as the best corrosion resistant material available today. It also has excellent resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking and oxidizing atmospheres up to 1,038°C (1,900°F).
