Alloy 925
Other specifications :
INCOLOY alloy 925 UNS N09925 925
Alloy 925 is a precipitation hardenable nickel-iron-chromium alloy, with additions of molybdenum, copper, titanium and aluminum
Alloy 925 has excellent corrosion resistance, in line with Alloy 825. High levels of nickel provide protection against stress corrosion cracking, while the addition of molybdenum and copper resists reducing environments in the same way that chromium resists oxidizing environments. Molybdenum improves resistance to crevice and pitting corrosion, raising the Pitting Resistance Index (PREN) to over 26. With a similar balanced composition, Alloy 925 is particularly suited to downhole applications in sour gas wells, but it can also be used in less aggressive applications, as it resists uniform corrosion, crevice and pitting corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in most aqueous environments where chloride or sulfide ions may be present.
Incoloy 925 is supplied in :
- bars, round billets, ingots
- perforated bars and tubes
- forged rings, forged flat and round bars
- custom forged elements
MAIN APPLICATIONS :
- Downhole equipment for acidic/corrosive environments, such as valves, stands, tool joints and storage tanks
- Marine masts and pumps
- High strength fasteners
- Components of the chemical process industry
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS:
- Corrosion performance is particularly suited to the acidic environments of crude oil and natural gas drilling wells
- Extremely high strength, usable in equipment applications and capable of reducing the suspended load of critical components
- Excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking
