INCOLOY® Alloy 825, UNS N08825, W.NR. 2.4858, ASTM B425, B42, B564, B424
Alloy 825 is a high-performance alloy composed of nickel-iron-chromium with additions of molybdenum, copper and titanium. The nickel content is sufficient to guarantee resistance to corrosion from chloride ions. This alloy has been successfully used in the oil and gas industry, chemical processing and energy production. One of the main features of the Alloy 825 alloy is its high level of corrosion resistance. In both reducing and oxidizing environments, this alloy resists general corrosion, pitting, crevice corrosion, intergranular corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Some of the environments in which Alloy 825 is particularly useful are those rich in sulfuric acid, acid, nitronium, phosphoric acid, gaseous products containing sulphur, as well as those containing acid gases, in oil wells and in salt water.
Incoloy 825 comes in:
- Sheets and plates
- Rolled plates and forged plates
- Bars, round billets, ingots
- Perforated bars and tubes
- Forged rings, forged flat and round bars
- Custom forged elements
MAIN APPLICATIONS:
- Fuel dissolvers
- Chilled salt water heat exchangers; piping systems for offshore products; pipes and components of equipment used with acid gases
- Heat exchangers, evaporators, gas purifiers, pipe extensions, etc… in the production of phosphoric acid
- Cooled heat exchangers in oil refineries
- Chemical processing and in the production of food and beverages
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS:
- Good resistance to stress corrosion cracking
- Satisfactory resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion
- Good resistance to hot oxidizing and non-oxidizing acids
- Good mechanical properties both at room temperature and at higher temperatures, up to approximately 550°C (1,020°F)
