Nickel alloy Alloy 718, also known as Inconel 718 ®, is an ultra-high-strength superalloy used for long-term high-temperature service up to 648°C (1,200°F). The Alloy 718 nickel alloy is heat treated to achieve the highest level of criticality and high creep resistance. This alloy is easily produced and can be welded in the annealed or age-hardened state. It is resistant to sulfide cracking and is able to pass the corrosion test. 718 is supplied to meet NACE and API 6A standards, meeting the requirements for application in the petroleum industry where tensile strength is needed.
