Material Description: 1.4550 stainless steel is an iron alloy containing 17% to 19% chromium and 9% to 13% nickel. This material also contains limited amounts of titanium and niobium, making it resistant to intergranular corrosion caused by welding or heating to high temperatures. 1.4550 steel has good corrosion resistance in many environmental conditions, particularly in the presence of hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and alkaline solutions.
